Today’s smile inducing “little thing” was brought to you while I was driving my daughter to school on the way back from an early morning dentist appointment.
I was stopped at a red light behind a car that had the best license plate ever. Of course it was framed out by a Dallas Cowboys license plate frame.
Today it’s tissue that’s my simple pleasure. When you need one, nothing else works better.
Today, I needed to take Jessalyn out for a while so that Jason could guest on a podcast. We first went to Target where I picked up a few items I really needed. Then we started walking the store. We were by the toys and I couldn’t get her away from there for the life of me. So in order to divert her attention, I asked her if she wanted to look at the flowers. Of course she came running so she could look at all of the “pretties.”
It’s been my goal for this year to finally get rid of an ugly plant I’ve had on the back patio. I have no idea where the plant actually came from because we moved it here with us. I just don’t remember where I got it.
So today while we were checking out the plants, I came across this daisy. That was it, I knew I had found my replacement for the ugly beast. It’s not the best picture to show you just how cute it really is, but here it is anyhow.
This morning, may I present the most helpful child in this place? Jessalyn loves helping me with chores. She helps put her laundry away, “cook” dinner (I measure, she pours), and even wash the dishes. She pulls up a chair and gets next to me while I wash. Recently I’ve been soaping a scrubber up and letting her go for it. Then I use a soapy sponge to go over her work and voila! A clean dish!

The simple fact that she offers to help, she wants to help without me asking her makes me happy.
Today’s post came early because the opportunity presented itself early. However I’m sure I’ll have a bonus picture/post later tonight because my son has a big even later.
But for this morning, may I present to you one month old Caleb and my little Jessalyn.
Seriously, one month old babies REALLY make me happy.
